Program Components: Let's Be Totally Clear Campaign

Louisiana reached a milestone when The Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act was passed in 2007, prohibiting smoking in most public places. While many of us are able to breathe easier, there are still a number of people who remain unprotected in their workplaces: musicians and those who work in bars or casinos.

One of our goals is to ensure that all Louisianans are protected from the dangers of secondhand smoke, and TFL increases awareness of this by working with many musician’s groups, cultural-economy groups, and by sponsoring smoke-free music shows throughout the state.

This past year, our Regional Coordinators have been in the field, talking to citizens throughout Louisiana. In their conversations, they found that many people wanted to share their experiences with secondhand smoke – something that has affected them, their family or their friends.

TFL has now taken this concept to the virtual world. “www.LetsBeTotallyClear.org”:http://www.letsbetotallyclear.org// features real Louisianans who have chosen to speak out about secondhand smoke and advocate for a smoke-free Louisiana.
