Program Components: Women’s Events
Women are proven to be strong advocates for social causes and activists on behalf of children. In 2008, TFL launched its inaugural series of women’s events across the state to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco and the insidious tobacco industry marketing tactics aimed at women and children. Many of the women who attended the events were shocked and appalled to find out what the tobacco industry has been doing throughout the years, and chose to get involved, spread the word, and help us to advocate for stronger smoke-free air policies and an increase in the tax on tobacco products.
