Hammond, November 29, 2004—The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL) will host its next regional Tobacco-Free Task Force organizing meeting on Wednesday, December 8th at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hammond Health Unit at 15481 West Club Deluxe Road in Hammond.
TFL is a statewide tobacco prevention initiative that seeks to reduce the harmful effects of tobacco use among Louisianans. All concerned members of the community, cancer survivors, community leaders and representatives from area hospitals and organizations are invited to attend and get involved. Previous participants in the Statewide Summit on Tobacco Prevention and the first organizing meeting are also encouraged to attend.
The meeting is intended to organize tobacco prevention efforts in the Northshore region (Office of Public Health Region 9), which includes the following parishes: St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Livingston, Washington, and St. Tammany. A light lunch will be served, so those planning to attend should please RSVP by December 5th.
