MEDIA CENTER

The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living uses paid and earned media in order to change awareness, attitudes and behavior towards tobacco use.

Our on-going media campaigns are essential components of TFL’s overall comprehensive tobacco control program. TFL has two current campaigns; one focuses on the dangers of secondhand smoke (SHS) and the other encourages smokers to quit.

Media outreach for our SHS campaign is intended to educate people about health risks so informed decisions about smoke-free workplaces and home environments can be made.

The quitline campaign uses the mass media to promote the free cessation services available from the Louisiana Tobacco Quitline and our Freedom From Smoking Clinics.

Members of the news media will find the TFL Press Kit and Annual Report helpful tools in reporting on the progress of tobacco control in our state. Recent news releases are included in this section and you’ll find broadcast and print public service announcements. Additionally, we’ve compiled a list of websites of organizations that are engaged in anti-tobacco initiatives.
